Lori Frazier credits a rained-out vacation in 2007 for launching her career as an artist. Inspired by the rural and wilderness scenery of North Central Florida, she began painting acrylic landscapes reflecting the remote beauty she saw.
Lori’s acrylic and pastel landscapes earned her several awards in an annual competition held in Mayo, Florida. Her work, “Dawn on Koon Lake” was selected for an exhibit at the Cork House Gallery in Savannah, and she is pleased to be joining the St. Augustine Beach Art Studio. “I rarely attempt typically beautiful subjects, like flowers or butterflies - I am drawn to the worn history of abandoned farmhouses, vintage trucks, and rusted out old cars. Urban scenery and architecture have also captured my attention recently, and I plan to do more in that area. Patterns of light and unusual birds also engage me as an artist.” Lori began playing flute at age 9, and over time has explored a range of folk instruments, made by her husband, Greg Frazier, including dulcimer and folk harp. As a flautist, she accepts bookings for gallery openings and private events, offering a range of curated music including classical, Celtic, and Broadway. Lori is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, and after over 35 years providing counseling services to children and adults, she closed her private practice and retired in July of 2019. In April of 2021, Lori launched the Creativity Project, with the goal of helping others nurture and express themselves creatively in a small-group setting. Lori L.
