Laura Boilini, Artist
Laura’s Current work includes painting with large groups based upon themes which have included “Destress through Art,” “Finding the Leader within” and “Team, Leadership, and Art” and others. In this service work Laura has worked with the LGBTQ community of UNF/and Jacksonville, UNF sports teams, the Ronald Mc Donald House, First Generation Students at UNF, and the faculty and staff of UNF. Each time Laura teaches a session to a group she approaches the opportunity with zeal as she so enjoys helping others create their own “expressions of color!”
The title of the show is “Expressions of Color” which symbolizes the joy she finds in painting, creating colorful renditions in acrylic and oil. The show will continue all through October. Laura has been a resident of Palencia for over ten years now, moving to Florida from Indiana in 2010 with her husband, Kirk Kemmish. Laura’s art career began years ago as she studied art and education and taught elementary art for several years in Indiana before pursuing educational leadership. Her passion for art reignited when she moved to Florida and she now has a studio in her home and teaches classes to help others find their creative potential. She has created many paintings as commission work, and she loves the excitement of creating a special piece for a client in their color choices and style. Her work ranges from abstracts, to flowers and landscapes. Laura has been a frequent teacher at the Palencia Lunch and Learn opportunities where she enjoys inspiring others to paint. Laura’s full-time work is as the Program Director and a Clinical Assistant Professor in Educational Leadership at the University of North Florida. Laura volunteers frequently at UNF to share her art and teaches a variety of groups inclusive of students, staff, and faculty as part of her service work. |
