Laurie is a St. Augustine pet and wildlife photographer, with a passion for capturing candid moments of animals in their natural element. Being self-taught,Laurie has spent many hours in the field with farm life, their animals, birds, bird dogs, and their humans. Specializing in wildlife, farm animals, dog events, and pets—particularly birds, Laurie focuses on behavior, interaction, and the intimate connection between animals and people. With a patient, unobtrusive approach, often working slowly on foot or from a vehicle, she aims to document genuine scenes without disturbing her subjects. Using long lenses to draw attention to detail and expression, Laurie strives to reveal the personality of each animal—especially through the eyes. In addition to “any subject in movement”, Laurie enjoys photographing Saint Augustine events and landscapes. She is always striving to add more tools to her toolbox and to learn new techniques. I guess it comes with that creative spirit that drives her. She gains inspiration from other fellow photographers and especially loves the outings with her Saint Augustine Camera Club.
