Karl Dean, from the Central Great Plains along the Smoky Hill River, perceived a vision perusing through an old cellar at the impressionable age of seven, manifesting this insightful phantasm into poetry.
I was graced with the ever daunting writer's block over a decade ago, disguised as a blessing. I decided to awaken my inner child choosing the transition into abstract art. Blending color and emotion with poetic and thought provoking wordplay, this mixed media lends an urban appeal of redemption and gratitude allowing ambiguous interpretation into the viewer's third eye. In my pursuing encounters, the aesthetics are primarily undressing the wilderness of the subconscious onto canvas; the loss of hope transformed into an answered prayer, a blind faith when you know the universe has spoken to you...spirituality... an intimacy with the utmost divine; the exponential possibilities of expression welcomed by an explosion of creative energy traveling into the longing absences resurrecting the nostalgic places we often return to along this journey, at your own pace in your own courageous steps. Inexcusably, my poetry influences my art. The abstract symbolism of my words intend to provoke a cathartic awakening, with the sole purpose to soothe the soul, embracing serenity within. To share the blissful light of happiness touching someone's heart through my words and art is the ultimate rejoicing reward.
