I guess I was just so inspired by the palm trees and the blue sky and the beaches so that’s what I drew and painted. They were definitely paintings of my “happy place“!
I sold my paintings at the farmers market on Wednesdays for about two years, then I hit a dry spell and didn’t paint again for another 10 years. (Life was busy raising two sons). I started up again about three years ago after I took a course based on the book by Julia Cameron called “The Artist’s Way”. I loved the course and after it was over, the floodgates opened and I have been painting like crazy ever since. I joined the “Art Studio” gallery about a year ago and I’ve met many more local artists and feel so lucky to be part of this community. My favorite medium to work with is acrylics, and my paintings are usually bright and happy colors! I am my happiest when I’m sitting in my studio, listening to the radio with a candle burning and painting a new project! Sharon Freeman [email protected] |
